l really need to learn how to do them cuz l cant continue skating lessons cuz im over the age for my group and the next lesson is 9:30pm. Anyone know videos?

l first learned how to do backwards crossovers on roller blades.

im not sure if it feels the same on ice, but my friend let me grab on to her ( l held on to her shoulders) & then l tried skating the cross overs, the beginning was kinda tough) then she told me to let go, so l did itty bitty cross overs going really slow, just trying to get a feel for it & get my balance. And then l kept on practicing for a really long time & l got it!

Bend your knees and make sure you check your free leg behind you after you cross! :)

practice pumping around a big hockey circle, making sure to bend both knees, stay down & sit in the back of ur boot, & keep ur arms turned so they r hugging the circle edge & look over the arm that is held behind you.

your inside foot should be on an outside edge & ur outside foot should be on an inside edge, & ur weight should be over the inside foot. lean into the circle.

then when u r ready, slide ur outside skate diagonally across in front of ur inside foot & shift ur weight onto it. keep ur knees bent & ur weight off ur toes. the clip the foot that did not cross up off the ice & replace it back to its original position.

if u hear a scraping sound it means u r catching ur toe picks. this is a very hard habit to break if not stopped soon, so to prevent it make sure ur weight it towards the back of ur skate.

its important to hold each step for the same amount of time. practice holding the glide on the back outside edge for 2 counts, then cross & hold that for 2 counts. as u get better shorten the count time..
