Novices are the first level that reach US Nats. They wo not be competing against the Seniors, but the probability of bumping into them during a practise or seeing someone watching from the stands is highly likely.

What the above person said is pretty accurate. You also might get to meet senior skaters at the welcome reception ( l assume they have one of these) and, if all else fails, some might turn up for the after competition party. l also think competitors are given credentials so they can go watch other events. Maybe they'd run into senior competitors that way, as well.
