l dont know how to skate~and tomorrow my class is going on a field trip to go skating??!!

Can someone please tell me how to skate!!!

First you glide one foot forward, then add the other. Soon you will be able to glide both your feet at the same time. Just take it slow! If you want to slow down, grind your feet into the ice.

ha ha! My class is to, on December 19th. The only diffrence is that l am a figure skater already! lol

Just try to hold on untill you find your balance. l am sure that there will be others that cant skate. And to be honest there is not really a way to tell someone ''how to ice skate'' it basically comes naturally!

Hello & welcome to the wonderful world of figure skating! :P

Some of the things I've taught beginning students is:
1) Do not look down at ur feet. They're not that interesting! Lots of beginning skaters like to see what their feet r doing, but it actually throws off ur balance & it is impossible to watch ur surroundings. Another skater might run into u & you'd never have seen it coming.

2) Keep ur knees slightly bent. If u lock ur knees when u skate, u might end up falling backwards. All u need is a little knee bend to keep ur weight over the balls of ur feet.

3) A few basic things to do is ''march'' (one foot in front of the other at close range), march until u get up a bit of speed & then do a two-foot glide (both feet together, knees slightly bent, arms out to the sides, & look where you're going!). If you're feeling adventurous u could try a dip, which is just a two foot glide with a deeper knee bend (your arms would be held in front of ur chest in this move).

4) Make up ur own fun moves with ur friends & enjoy yourself! Also, remember that skate sizes should be smaller than ur shoe size, so if u can wiggle ur toes around a bunch in the skate, you've gotten too large of a size.

weird.in my school the lower grades are going to a ice rink called ''frong pond'' the same day as you .andways

just keep with some friends if they dont know how to skate too, or have your friends teach you if they do know how to skate
both ways you win!

Im sure theres gona be lots of people that cant skate thats going aswell. But bend your knees, and im pretty sure you've already gone by now. How was it? . btw if this doesnt sound like a stalker you dont have to answer it but what school do you go too?
