and skating tights? I am just wondering

You can wear them at any stage.

l started wearing some after l had been skating for like, a year. l can not remember the exact grade though.

the skating shop provides u with suitable skirts/dresses.

Granddaughter started at age 5, has always worn all the above and has competed all over the east coast, US. Is now eligible to compete for Jr. Nationals.

it really doesnt matter. Its up to you, how comfortable do you feel? If you want one go for it :) People get a dress before thier 1st lesson! but l have had lessons for 4 motnhs and havent got a dress yet, l wear skirts and leggins. No one will laugh or make fun of you, every ones in the same boat. Go after that dress you have always wanted at the rink. Snd tights, make sure you get them slighly bigger then your size so you can streach in them fully and to prevent ladders.

actually, there are not any rules about how advanced you have to be to wear dresses or skirts. l have seen people who are skating for the first time ever, and they're wearing skating dresses.
personally l do not wear skating dresses because l am not comfortable in them. if you are, then go ahead and wear them! no one, but no one, is going to say anything or look at you weirdly because you wear a skating dress on the ice.

You do not have to be at a certain level to wear certain clothing. You can wear a dress even if u do not take lessons. Here r some of my favorite designs.

There r no rules about ''when'' u can start wearing skating outfits . . . it is totally up to u . . . whenever u feel like u want to!! But u should ALWAYS wear tights WITH the dresses . . . so that would be at the same time, I'd say! You can also wear skating tights underneath leggings or pants (if that is what u wear to skate) for extra warmth.

Most of the time people look around at what others in their class r wearing. Often in the beginning, u will see group lesson skaters wearing street type clothes. Then when one starts wearing a ''skating'' outfit, others start doing the same. It is as if someone gave the OK to start wearing dresses, even though it was ok to all along. And others do not ever want to - & that is fine too. Whatever u r comfortable with!!

Simple, not-too-decorated plain dresses r suitable for class & practice. Most likely u will wear a sweatshirt/jacket over the top anyway (at least at the beginning of ur session). Save the fancy, shiny, glittery stuff for competitions!!!

there isnt any rule on when or what level u hafta be at, l reccomend after about basic 3 or 4. u dont wanna wear them too soon or it looks a lil odd.

whenever you want, usually when one person in a group starts wearing skirts and dresses everyone else does as well! me and my friends started when we had our first competition

Like everyone else has said, you can wear them whenever you'd like to start wearing them! Check your rink is pro shop to see what they carry, or go online to goldenskate.com which has links to skate shops on the 'net.

It does not matter what level you're in to wear them.I've seen kids who r not even in lessons show up wearing them! Personally, l did not start wearing them until l was in private lessons. Some of my group skaters wear them, but not many ( l teach the freestyle classes). It seems that the trend at our rink is to *not* wear them. Most of the girls r wearing yoga pants, sweats, shorts (w/ tights) & other types of ''gym'' or casual wear for practice & lessons (of course we wear them for competition/testing/shows). l have not worn a dress or skirt for practice in YEARS! :) l recommend always wearing tights, no matter what u wear. They keep u warmer & work better on ur foot inside ur skates. Check out what other skaters r wearing & what levels they r at. l think it pretty much depends on personal preference.

Well, as long as u r comfortable & warm on the ice, u should wear anything that u like. During my ice time, l often hear public skaters talking about how so & so is a pro skater & how so & so is lousy & how so & so is so proficient that u do not have to worry about hitting her.

Stereotypes.

If you're not comfortable with them, then do not wear. If u do not give a penny about what others think, u can wear them anytime u want.

l know l want to wear them. l do not really care if people say that it is so skimpy etc because l am comfortable in those clothes.

After all, they r just clothing.

Follow what ur heart sings.

You wear them at any ''grade''. They are much easier to move around in than jeans and dont soak up as much water. Sweats would also be okay, but they tend to get a bit baggy, and that could be bad because your coach cant see your legs so wont really be sure of what to correct.

any grade.i started wearing them whenever l wanted to.i would prefer to start wearing them when u at have enough balance where ur not falling every 5 mins. because of balancing because ur tights will eventually get worn out and start tearing.

l started wearing skirts when l was in alpha. u skate better when u like what u are wearing and are comfortable in it. l do not care to wear dresses for practice. for practice l either wear a skirt with tights and a regular long sleeve top or black skate pant is with a shirt.

Anybody at any level can wear them!
Just have fun with it, and do not be afraid to try new things!

wear them when you start if you want to. usually you start when everything else you wear seems to get in your way if that is the case and you do not want to wear a skating dress wear dance pants they usually work. but if you do want to wear a dress wear one even if you do not need to it will be good to get used to wearing one as soon as possible
