never too late. Just be committed to it and you might catch up if you feel you are starting late.

It is never too late to set goals and go to some comeptitions. Talk to the coaches at your rink, see what their fees are for private lessons and coaching you at the rink and what competitions are available for you in your area at your level.

10 is definitely not too old to skate . . . l started skating wayyyyyyyyy later than u (wink)!!
As you've been skating 2 years already, there may be a coach(es) u r already familiar with (group class, friends, or just by being at the rink so often) - start ur research with them. Factors for u may include cost, scheduling, teaching methods, & even personality! Take ur time to find the right coach for you!
There r competitions for all ages & levels. Your ''coach'' can help determine what level u are.
Best of luck!

It is not too late.you probably wo not be an Olympic skater, but you can certainly compete and take private lessons. Why do not you set some goals for getting into some local competitions soon? Good luck!

Nope, l am 13 and l started skating a year ago. l think you're in a Higher level than me? l am in Freestyle 1. You should start competing in competitions that they have at your rink and practice more often to get better. You should also participate in skating shows (if you have thoose) because sometimes thoose require you to learn things from a higher level. Good Luck ;D

nope . l started at 11 and now l am 15 and l can do all the doubles, and now l am working on triple salchow. If you work hard you can do really well and compete with girls that started even younger than you.

NO! l started ''late'' and l can do all kinds of stuff in less than a year (Freestyle 2). Actually, when you start later, you progress faster compared to little kids who can not grasp it that quickly. Good luck!

No l think there are some advantages to starting early and starting later. I'dts better to start at an early age to get used to skating but starting late is fine too. Just stick with it and you will get good. l wish l would have.

Of course it is not too late. As long as u enjoy the sport & want to apply yourself, it is never too late. Johnny Weir was 12 when he started. Most elite skaters start young. There r a lot of local competitions held by figure skating clubs for skaters on the lower levels that r a lot of fun to compete in. You may never reach the elite level & compete at Nationals in Senior ladies, but not that many do. Just do what u want to do & progress at ur level and, most of all, have fun.
In addition to singles skating, there also is synchronized skating, which is made up of a team of skaters. You may enjoy competing in that way. l have two daughters who competed, one in each, & they enjoyed it very much. Skating teaches u a lot of life lessons. You learn discipline, composure, camaraderie with other skaters, self-esteem.
At ur rink, u need to find a coach willing to give u lessons. You will need free style lessons & lessons for ''moves in the field.'' There r tests to pass to place u at the correct competition level. You will need as much practice time as possible, preferably everyday. And u will need ur parents' support as skating does cost money, but it does not have to break the bank. If u show potential & that u have the desire to really apply yourself, that is what is important.
