l am starting to work on my axel and l got a new pair of Risport RF2 SUPER. l normally would have gone for the RF2 simple, but the shopkeeper said that the name was the only difference between the two boots. now l found out that the RF2 simple has a stiffness factor of 45, while the SUPER has a factor of 85. l can not bend my knees as much as l could in my old boots, but l think that is because they are very new and not broken-in. plus, l did not get a chance to try them on the ice yet, because my local rink is in repairs, so l do not know how they will feel on my simple jumps. are my boots too strong for my level of skating?

l am no expert in that area, but anything with a extra word added to it like-- super might mean they are probaly more of something. Your seeing that their more stiff. It could be that they need broke in, but if they are causing more problems then improvement after a week of use then I'd dump them. l apply that concept to everything- even people- you can try that with foot gear, too. l feel to old to iceskate now, but l used to love to when l lived up north.

It is hard to tell if u will be unable to break them in since u have not had a chance to break them in or even try skating in them. l am sure that eventually u will be able to break them in, but it may be harder. l would suggest only lacing them up three hook instead of all four (basically minus one hook off of the top so u do not lace them up- this can change depending on how many hooks u have up ur skates). l would also talk to ur coach about it, l am not super familiar with Risport skates, but since u have not had a chance to skate in them yet or even try breaking them in it is hard to tell u whether or not they will be too stiff.

well they probably might take a little more time to break in, but l think honestly youll probably be able to pull them off. just work real hard into softening them up, and l think youll be fine ;] plus, since theyre a step up from the ones you were gonna get, it probably is saving you money from needing to buy them when you get even better, right? well good luck with everything! =)

First of all, the more advanced and better your boots get, the harder they will be to break in. l suggest just skating around and doing simple things like mohawks and 3-turns to break them in. After a while they may start to soften up. On the other hand, attempt your jumps. Your boots may be too hard. If you have a coach, ask him or her.
