okay l was having a bad skating day, and l just couldnt do a twofoot turn, and also l was very scared of falling too... so he got kind of frustrated when l cldnt get it, and moved on to 3-turns... which l couldnt do unless l was holding something! and then l felt really embarrassed doing the wiggles.. and it was also the first lesson where he didnt say ''good'' to anything l did..
so at the end, he told me that maybe l should go polish up my stuff before continuing lessons to learn new stuff..
is this what coaches do to ''bratty'' students? to give them the cold shoulder or something? or do most coaches do that and i'm reading too much into it?
i wasnt being bratty, l was just very afraid of falling, and feeling a little lonely bcos my skating buddy wasnt there and l was lonely :S

help??

Your coach was probably just frustrated that u were not making progress, not only at you, but with himself.

By telling u u need to polish up ur moves, he means u need to keep practicing before returning to lessons. Once ur lessons r over, u should *always* go out of the lessons area to practice what he was trying to teach you. Skate to an area where it is not to crowded & practice ur two-foot turns.

As for ur three-turns. When to place ur skate behind the other in the ''T'' position, keep ur arms firm out in front of u & KEEP YOUR KNEES BENT!! If u have ur legs straight, u may fall over, & u wo not have any power for ur push.

Your coach was probably frustrated with you/or himself. Your coach might have been having a bad day & took it out on you. Just make sure to practice before & after ur lesson. Do not feel lonely, take advantage of the time u have with ur coach & to skate u really can not be afraid to fall. Every skater falls. If u r afraid to fall, get knee pads. Do not have hard feelings against ur coach. just a note: maybe this is sign this coach is not for you. do not take this seriously, maybe he was not in the best mood to begin with. Maybe he thought u were not trying ur best, but i'm sure u were.

Hope it is better next time!

try going skating every public session as possible, going to freestyle in the morning at your local rink there will probably be the schedule and practice what she told you to practice my coach is an international champion and she can be very hard on me but l know she pushes me because she knows l can do it
show that to your coach and she will see what you are capable of

maybe he is right.

why pay that money and use your and his time when you're too scared to do anything?

coaches do not want to teach someone who doesnt want to learn. if you dont shape up you might be stuck at wiggles and 2 foot turns forever.

falling is just a fact.
you're going to fall alot. it isnt so hard.

go practice for awhile before starting up lessons again. it can only benifit you.

He is right. You can not learn more advanced things until you get the easy stuff down and a two foot turn.haha u think falling on that hurts? haha. no offense all figure skaters have to get over it and you do too. Try falling on a double jump. Then you will know what skating is all about. Have fun but get over it!

Happy Skating!

IDK. maybe you could tell him you were just having a bad day. he should get it. if he doesnt, find a new coach. who would want to work with him if he doesnt understand you were having a bad day!
