My friend and are having a disagreement, what should l wear to ice skating? I am in Gamma. l like to wear the dresses and skirts but she thinks l should wear sweat pants. Will either affect my skating? l got leg warmers that l use when l wear dresses. l also have my own skates so l feel it looks cool to wear them with the dresses. Who do you think is right? My friend that wants me to wear sweatpants, or me who wants to wear dresses and skirts.

Sweatpants may be warm but theyre not exactly cute looking..lol

Skirts and dresses, maybe, if your wearing tights or leggings; that would be nice. It gets pretty cold tho :0

since youre only in gamma, l think you should worry about whether its comfortable or not.you have a long road ahead of you.im in freestyle 3 and l still wear sweats and jackets.wai till youre going into free5 to worry bout ur outfit.unless youre competing now then you should be worried

l believe u should always skate wearing what u would if u were competing. In other words, u r in training to compete - so wear a dress! If u r in the right head space when u step on the ice u will take it seriously & be mentally prepared for what u r working towards. Sweat pants r never (and will never) be a part of skating. You need to separate the off ice & on ice girl. It is also easier for a coach to see ur body line when u r wearing the proper attire.

Good luck & never think that u have to wait until a higher level to start being a higher level skater.

mm..i think a ice skating dress or skirt. when ur in a competition or expo, ur wearin a dress or skirt. l think it would be best to start wearing it now and be able to do all ur moves in the oufit u choose. But for the Gamma level (in my area at least) there isnt much to do for performances and such..but wearing a dress does look pretty when u spin and everything XD

personally l think that the people in low levels or that take group lessons should wear sweatpants, because one it looks weird even if u have ur own skates leg warmers r funny looking,
& two u will be warmer if u wear sweats alot of high level people will wear a tee/hoodie & sweats or spin pants(tight pants with ribbon going down the leg u spin on looks suber cool!) for practice just because its more comfortable & warm,

i want sweats because now its getting cold & im freezing but l dont have any :(
