l am a figure skater(like competitive). And my friend is having an ice skating party with almost our whole grade (except the nerds). l know l am gonna wear black practice pants (they are stretchy) with a white cami for layering and a cute hoodie or sweatshirt. What should l act like and do and that kinda stuff??? l am nervous!
Ok that was really rude! And they are nerds who have their owns friends and are just as happy!

As one of the nerds, freaks, and geeks in high school, l advise you to get over yourself. It is not going to matter one iota when/if you go to college, unless you make a habit of making an ass out of yourself.

It is just kinda rude to label people, and you do not help your case by pointing out that you're excluding them. Grow up.

if your friends cant skate as well as you maybe you can help them out a little and be useful.you arent the star of the show and you wont win any social points for showing off. l suggest you wear a little more than a cammie and lightweight clothes or you will freeze to death with all of the slow skaters

Do not listen to the haters.just go wear what you mentioned but also wear a nice fleece or something and heavier gloves.when l skate with my non-skater friends, l ALWAYS get really cold.

l do agree that you should not try to show off, although l thin kit is ok for people to know that you are a skater, and ok to show people things if they request that you do so. Good luck!!

When my class went skating last year l just wore a hoodie and a pair of flexible jeans. l noticed the cold a bit more though!
Help them out, my friends asked me to show them stuff, but l didnt go off and practice and be snobby and stuff!
lol, have fun!

l am a competive skater as well and have gone to birthdays.what l would suggest is not to show off or anytihng just skate around laughing and playing with your friends. If they ask you to show them something by all means show them just do not come across as a show off.

l too am a competitive skater, and if l were you, l would not try to show off. on the other hand, if your friends think its cool to do complex tricks, then just go ahead, but only if they suggest it,not you. not stress out about it either, its a party, hav fun.good luck=]

Do not be nervous -- this is ur niche.this is ur thing! :) Do not be ashamed of it! Be prepared that u will probably run into the occasional jealous brat who will call u a 'show off.' I've found to avoid this, take it slow. When you're with a group of non-skaters, do not advertise that you're a skater, which most of them probably already know. When all the ''wobblers'' get on the ice, help them out & skate with them. They will clearly notice that you're not ''wobbling'' & that you're pretty solid on ur feet. They will start to get the hang of it & then they will probably start asking u if u can do a triple axel, a back flip & all sorts of other crazy things that people assume when they hear ''figure skater.'' l guess l would treat it like a social outing rather than a practice session -- which gets kind of boring to most skaters..we do not want to be accused of showing off, but it is BORING skating around in circles, holding onto the wall!!! Stick with the group & they will probably ask u to do a few ''tricks.'' Give 'em ur best trick.a spin or a jump..and when they're all amazed by ur spins (people always are), try to teach them a simple two foot spin. You're showing them that while u can do all sorts of things, you're not trying to draw attention to yourself, yet you're willing to help the newbies learn a few skills. Most of all, have fun! :)

l would wear exactly what u wrote & ur friends at first r going to be like heyyy pull me around, haha, oh you're great. And if they ask u to do jumps or spins do it for them, but wait until they ask. If u just get out there & start doing stuff everyone will be like, wow she is a showoff. BUT I've been in this situation & everyones like come on comeon show us a jump. Start with something small & they will probably keep asking & then show them something awesome. Good luck.
