Well Im a figure skater, have been for eight years now. And l keep getting out of it, like l keep thinking 'i wanna quit. l want a life'
what should l do to keep motivated?
dont say think 'win win win' that doesnt work on me.

To have this talent is great. How many people do you know who can skate as good as you? You've got something so many people want! Lucky you. The skating part of the Olympics is one of the most watched. It is like angels on ice, out there. Breath taking. It will keep you in shape. People love figure skaters. Other then all this l can only say, keep going so l can see you in the Olympics one day.

Firstly, l think if u truly, deeply, with ur whole heart want to stop skating, u should. You should not do something u r completely sick of or do not like because u feel like u need to. There should be no pressure to continue if u r making yourself miserable, & u should do whatever makes u happy.

Most likely, though, that is not the case!
Figure skating is a beautiful, amazing sport in the first place, that very few people can actually experience. Thousands, probably millions of people watch skating on television & wish deeply that they could do that, too. You r lucky enough to be one of those few people. It is amazing when u think about it.doing jumps & spins on a thin blade, less than half an inch thick, on frozen water that is basically purely frictionless.
Ha ha, l know that may have sounded a little corny, but it is true!
If u have been skating for eight years, u r most likely very good & have well-developed skills. Think about all the hard times it took to master what u know now, & how much it pays off.
If u r a competitive skater, think about how far u can go in the skating world!
Figure skating takes hard work, & it may take even a little more to keep a balanced life (if u skate very frequently), & let that work be ur motivation.
Also, know that others r cheering for you, including me!

If u have thought about it for a while & u really want to quit, that is ur decision. However, l think it would be extremely hard to quit something you've been doing for so long. You have obviously worked very hard in this beautiful sport. Have u been working on the same things for a while? Maybe u just need a change; a new coaching perspective, a new program, etc. Also, u could take a break & explore new things, skating occasionally just for fun. After a break, u could make a final decision. Whatever happens, make sure it is YOUR decision, & not the decision of ur parents, coaches, etc. Good luck with whatever u decide!

l think there comes a time when every figure skater asks themselves the same question, ''Why am l a figure skater when l could have a life?'' l think the best thing for u to do is to try & remember why u first started skating. If u r being coached individually maybe talk to ur coach about letting u try things that u think r fun. If you've always wanted to know how to do a flying sit spin, try working on those with ur coach. Also, try to establish a goal to reach such as passing a certain level test or getting 1st place at state anything that u really would be excited to work for. If none else fails, go recreational skating, when you're mind is not focused on anything but having fun u may find the passion u once had for figure skating.

Just keep on working at it! l used to have the same feelings, but now l love it more than anything in the world (and trust me, l lose a lot!). Maybe watch some skating on t.v. Thats what got me back into it. Good Luck :]

l did iceskating for a while, and then quite. But in a couple of years, l missed it sooooooooo much that l had to start up again! Advice: do not quit, if you do, you will just miss it so much that you have to do it again.
