Okay, so I've been ice-skating a few times, and l absolutely LOVE it.l do not plan on going professional or anything, but l still want a pair of my own skates.They do not really need to be expensive or anything.Hockey skates will do.By the way, which are better;
hockey skates or figure skates?
Here are the ice skates that I've been looking at (they're purposely cheap so that my parents will be more likely to buy them):

Hockey skates:

Figure skates:

or

Thank you so much everyone! :)

Oh, and the bribing thing does not work with my parents:
they expect me to do my best in everything.
Haha, so you gotta be more creative than that :)

Do not get the last two, it would not be worth the money. And the first two were youth skates if u did not know. If u like hockey skates better, then get those, after all u r the one that will be wearing them.

The worst thing ur parents can say is no. Ask them, if they say yes, great. If not try to work a deal out with them, (do chores, ask for or save an allowance, babysit if u r old enough). Convince them that it is worth it to buy u skates. That after a while it will save them money that would otherwise go to skate rental.

l would get the last pair. In my opinion figure skates r better but that is coming from a figure skater! im sure a hockey skater would say otherwise!

As for figure skates themselves- single blades not double- & if u r going to have lessons, pay & get a better quality boot. u will save yourself heaps of money in the long run.

As for getting ur parents to agree to it. Perhaps try explaining that its better that u r out & moving about than sitting & watching TV all day. Offer to pay them back.

u could always tell ur parents that skating teaches responsibility and it will keep u out of trouble trust l was always in trouble with my school and wen l started skating l stopped getting in trouble and l think they are all ok skates

Hold a paper route for a month, and then take a trip to ''play it again sports'' for a second hand pair.

If you want to play hockey, go for the hockey skates. If you want to jump, spin, or ice dance, even casually, get the figure skates.

Here is what l would do:

Since u love it so much, start by taking lessons. l am sure if u told ur parents this was ur passion, they would be interested. When u first start, u can use rental skates. As u keep advancing u can decide if u still really love it.

If u want to continue, save up some of ur own money, like $50 or so. Tell u parents u really love it & want to keep going, an u would like some skates of ur own. Tell them u have some money to help pay for them. It will show responsibility so they will more likely give in.

Whatever u do, be mature about it. No whining or crying.

Now about the skates.

For beginner skates, l would suggest Riedells. They r not to expensive & r okay skates.

It is a long process, but then u will also decide if u love skating as much as u think u do.

Good Luck!! :)
