l know what bunga pad are for: reduce friction in the boot to prevent sore spots, blisters etc.
are thy just for breaking in skates or after you break them in?

l have broken in my skates, but l still get a blister on my ankle (where the last lacing is) is this normal?should l get the anke bunga pads?

Thanks!
also with all the bunga pads out there which one is are really necessary?like the heel one
do people get blisters on theirheel?

You can get them, the ones that go around the ankles, but you can also try simple round foam makeup pads!
like these:

you can get for a $1 and save $$$ on bungapads! Just put them where you blister once you have your foot in your skates. l use a combo of the 2 at one point.

Bunga pards r for whenever u need them.

l used silopads (similar to Bunga that came out before Bunga) when l was breaking in my skates AND l used them throughout the use of my skate. l have kind of a bony foot & l needed more than just the padding inside the boot.

Me personally, l liked the silopads (gel pads) because l could slap them directly on my skin, with tights or knee hi is over them. l used the real big discs ( l think like 4'') so it'd cover a big area & it would not move around. The big discs covered above the ankle area (where my boot sort of pushed into my leg), so it helped more than just to prevent blisters. It was expensive, but well worth the money . . . l could clean them, & even if they got brown & flatter, they still worked.

And if l ever did get blisters, l could slap one over it & l could skate feeling ok. Make up sponges r fine when u do not have a blister, but used over blisters, l felt it rubbed it even more. They cushion an area but it may add pressure in the area. Gel pads (bunga, silo) dispurse the pressure so u do not have that pressure pain in one spot. That is my experience anyway.

l actually used Dr. Scholls unmedicated callous pad (triangle) that fit perfectly at the heel. l used them when my heel was slipping when l had skates that l found out way late were too big. The heel slippage sometimes created blisters. When l got correct fitting skates, l did not need anything at the heels.

l come from a time when there were only big or small silopad discs. Bunga later came out with (and still has) a wonderful line of convenient ''sleeves'' & products, but plain ol' silopads were all l ever used & needed. My feet definitely thanked me for using them (but remember not everyone has the bony pains that l had).

Just my 2 cents.

someone up there said that they use round makeup pads and thats what l do! they work really well and are really cheap. and people do get blisters on their heels. l used to get nasty ones on my ankles but what always hurt the most was right up at the top of the skate so l would put ones there too.

it depends how ur skates feel.
i wear them all the time just because it irritates my ankles if l dont.
the ankle ones r the most nessecary ones.

cover the blistering area with some form of bandage tape (it has to be able to fit into ur boot) until its fully healed.
with skating you're always going to get blisters once & awhile, but to make sure it doesnt keep irritating u keep it covered.

oh, & wear the right socks. l find that l always get blisters on the days l forget socks or wear a pair of really crappy ones.
you want some thin, almost like tights, kind of socks.

Well, it really depends.

Is there padding on ur tongue of the boot?
If not that may be some of the reason for the rubbing.

l myself find it more comfortable to wear bunga pads with my boots.

They r not necessary but l think they add to comfort.
Some disagree but l guess its all what u r used to.

Yes, people get blisters on their heel. Are u clicking u heel before tying ur boots? That may be part of the reason. If u r try wearing socks so ur feet do not slide around so much in ur boot.

Also for ur blisters try & wrap ur ankles with gauze or put a huge bandage on the blister. l find that helps.
