l would like a stylish alternative to slinging my skates over my shoulder. l would like to keep spending to a minimum but do not mind spend money on products that are worth it.

Thank you!
l would like a stylish alternative to slinging my skates over my shoulder and hitting everyone that walks by. Lower prices are preferred but l do not mind spend an extra dollar or two if it is worth it.

l also do not like Zuca bags. Thanks!

The bag of choice for the teens at my rink is the pricey Zuca. They r cute, stylish, but expensive! You can sit on them to put ur skates on - that seems to be the reasoning behind the big price tag - like $100 for the frame & $40 for the bag insert.

l got a great bag from Ross - it is Nine West, & it just happens to have one soft divider in the middle so that l put a skate on each side & they do not scuff each other up. It also has some little vertical slots that l use for hard guards, gloves, etc. l love it! It does not roll, it goes over my shoulder. It only cost me about $25.

Those Zuca bags r cute, but very trendy right now. Everyone has them at the rink, but they're too expensive for me!

Instead, l got a backpack on wheels from Marshalls, which is a discount store near where l live. It is purple with black trim, & fits everything - & the wheels r great, because l do not have to haul it around. If u have a Marshalls, a TJ Maxx, or any other sort of ''brand names for less'' store near you, check them out. They often have quite a selection of wheely bags. You can also look in Target & stores like that, which tend to offer such bags.

People really like my bag, so something like that may work for u instead of the expensive Zuca. My bag was literally like $12, & it is lasted 3 years so far.

when l skated back in grade school we used mid sized carry ons. this was before the day of those trendy bags.i forgot the name - sound so old, i'm only 21 haha. but ya, all the girls just had black carry ons but l do not see that too much anymore. maybe its just where l was.i dunno.

Back in my day, the snazzy bag of choice was a boxy wood & metal hard case. We used to decorate them with stickers & glittery things from competitions & the like.

Since the hard cases r long gone, u could try a couple of alternatives:

1) make yourself a bag. If u want something to sling over ur shoulder, blue jeans from the thrift shop make a very tough customer of a bag with very little sewing. Some glitter paint & sequins & u have something thoroughly unique. Why be ''trendy'' like everyone else? Have something no one else could ever have.

2) check ebay, online discount stores & local thrift & consignment shops for carry-on luggage. You might find something really cool for not too much dough.

3) If u have small feet (and small skates) a bowling bag might do the trick. You can find those online or at ur local bowling alley. Also do not hesitate to check ur local roller rink which may carry bags in their pro-shop.

First make sure whatever u get fits all ur skating gear (if u r carrying more than just the skates - like guards, towels, extra clothes, etc). Then make sure u can lug it around easily . . . funky/cool but convenient!

If it is pretty much just ur skates, u might look at roll-on luggage for kids!! They r much more colorful & can come in different shapes. You might want to check into the height of the handle though . . . if you're short like me, it might be ok.

Some possibilities (though l do not know their actual sizes)

Have fun finding the perfect one!

( l come from a time where everyone had the old school black roll-on luggage!).
