l just got my skates about a month or so ago and they already smell really bad. Its embarassing and l do not know what to do. l had my Riedell is for 6 years and they never smelled. Please give me some advice. l wash my feet a lot and do everything l can think of to get rid of the smell.

Are u skates wet on the inside? Water gets absorbed into the leather of the sole (soles on skates r compressed leather, not wood) & do not dry out quickly, causing them to stink. In bad cases, the inside of the skates can mildew & get spots on the inside. The coating on a pair of my boots cracked once, water got inside & could not dry out. They smelled awful & it was not my feet!! When you're done skating, take ur skates out of ur bag, take off ur soakers & let them dry out for as long as u can. You can also try Stinkeez..

You put them in ur boots & they absorb moisture & they smell good. l bought a pair of used boots for my stepdaughter & they smelled like mothballs when we got them. l put the Stinkeez in them for awhile, & it took some of the smell away.

Try spraying them with Febreze (in the laundry aisle) and alway air them out after wearing. It is interesting that Jackson is smell bad and Reidell is didn't. My daughter has Jackson is and we're always trying to deal with the smell!

l had a similar problem with my Jackson skates, but never encountered such a problem with my Riedell skates. Are you letting your skates dry out after each session (inside and out)? Another thing you can get which can help with smelly skates are Stink-eez which are inserts that help get rid of skate odor. http://stink-eez.com/

Sounds like you have not used snowkote on the bottoms of your skates and the boots. Jacksons would not have the snowkote on them as they are usually a recreational skate.
