What are recreational skates ???

they are regular skates that are not for racing they are just for recreational use

the are just skate that dont have anything special on them just for skating not like inline skating or grinding and doing tricks

they are just skates that are good but not for skaters who skate all the time and do jumps and spins and all that technical stuff. they are for people who skate every now and again.

Recreational skates r kind of skates that r used by recreational skaters, that r those who skate just for fun, & cannot be used by figure skaters because they dont have enough ankle support, they r not often sharpened & their blade is not meant for that.

You could compare it with figure skates because they r made of vinyl & regular figure skates r made of leather, but the design is very similar.

Recreational r very inexpensive. You can go to any sport store & purchase one. They r called recreational because that is all they r used for.

Usually, the edges r not as good as competitive skates, & they r not as comfortable due to insuffucient padding; & many of them hurt.

They r for mere recreation. u do not use them a lot & u do not skate in them for a long period of time as u do when u r skating seriously & practicing different elements.

Recreational skates r skates that r used for skating around the pond or rink with the fam a few times a year. Recreational figure skates r not really made for jumps or spins because there is not a great deal of support for the ankles & the blades r usually less quality. Most often they're made of vinyl & plastic, whereas a higher quality boot will be made of leather & better quality materials. Recreational hockey skates r about the same...they're a little more flimsy & do not offer a lot of support for effective pushing & speed. A recreational skate is not made for someone who is spending large amounts of time on the ice. Usually they're the type of skate u will find at rummage sales or at chain sporting good stores. The name brands r brands like Lake Placid or CCM (which also makes better hockey skates). Your better figure skates r brands such as Harlick, S.P. Teri, Riedell, Jackson & Klingbeil. Also, more expensive figure skates do not come as a boot & blade together.
