l love figure skating and l have been doing it for a while. l am 12 years old now and l have not learned my axel or any jumps higher than that yet. do think l still will be able to and be able to do doubles? im a really good jumper and l jump a lot.

yes you will, l was 12 when l started my doubles.now l am 18 and l am on triples.

Of course! Remember never give it up! l am an ice-skater, but l can not jump at all. l love Ice-skating, and if you are determined to learn all your tricks you will. Do not worry, your age does not matter, just keep on trying and you will reach success!

yeah your more than ready. tara lipinski was 16 when she won the olympics and she was doing triples. get your coach to teach you

If you are ''only'' 12 . . . yes, as long as you continue practicing you should be able to get to your doubles. l started skating in my mid 20 is and got to my doubles. Highly unlikely for me to get into any triples, but certainly possible for you. Keep up the good jumping - wink!

Do not worry about your age, l was 11 when l first landed mine. Be carefull though, you might lose it like l did many times. Now i'm 13 and I've landed all my doubles and my axel is as consistent as ever. l am even working on a double axel and triple sow cow (do not know how to spell that).

You will, beyond the shadow of a doubt, make it as far as you take yourself. If you believe you can do it and apply yourself, work for it, its gonna come.
l know that sounds all Hallmark card-ish but l felt it fit for what it seemed you were asking for. But if you love it, and practice, and want it, l guarantee you will get as far as an axel and who knows, maybe one day a quad? Why not, right.

l started ice skating when l was 13. when l was 15 l got my axel and almost had my double salchow, then l had to stop. l am 21 now and started skating again. I've got my axel back, and once l get my singles back to the place they were l will be starting doubles, and you better believe l will get them. Age is only a number. you can do anything you set your mind to. Nothing is impossible. You will get them if you practice, which l am sure you will since you love it so much.

l started my axle when l was 10 but its different for everyone im 15 now and just starting triples good luck.

The Axel is the pre-curser to the double jumps. the revolution is 1 -1/2 on a axel. Do Waltz loop combos in a row 4 or 5 times at once & that will train u for the axel on ice. It gives u the feeling & body position. Cause when u break down the Axel that is all it is a Waltz, loop combo together. My daughter is 12 & she still does not have her Axel yet she has everything else as well as all the single jump combinations. She competes at pre-preliminary. Today though she did land it two footed though she had proper body position , feet crossed had a lot of height & spin she just did not check out!!! Her coach feels something has clicked with her understanding how the jump actually goes & another step is closer to actually landing the axel with great height when she does.
She is been working on it for one year now. Her main problem was not keeping her feet crossed in the air before checking out. A lot of skaters take a year or more to actually land the axel on ice in a moving position as well as on the line from a standing position. Off Ice jump training will definitely help with all of the double jumps & Axel with understanding the actual jump in a safe manner as well as create muscle memory, correct body position & rotation.
All l can say is practice, practice, practice

It get is harder once u get to doing double lutz & double axel. It does take time to land doubles & triples but the thing is if u want to land doubles u will land doubles it just takes time. Do not force yourself to get into them.
Here r some tips to land ur axel:

1) try doing waltz, loop combinations.
2) try doing alot of backspins (really fast ones with atleast 5 revolutions)
3)And try doing the axel in ur rubber shoes at the rink.

here r tips for doubles:

1)Do not force yourself in the air try jumping instead.
2)When learning the axel ask ur coach if u could practice double salchow & double toe loop all at the same time.
3)try jumping off ice with ur shoes.

l was about 13 or 14 when l first started my axel. You definately are still able to. l am almost 16 and l just started all my double jumps, so really do not worry about it.

yes! most defenetly!! l am 13 now, and when l was 12 l was in freeskate four, and could barely do a loop jump! Now l am already landing 4 different doubles, and l only turned 13 5 months ago!! If you have a good coach and are determined, you DEFENTLY will!!

Yes. l did not start doubles until l was nearly 14. The important thing is not to rush.

you can still learn doubles but you need to learn your single axel first get your coach to help you learn you axel than start working on your doubles.
