know anything about them? is that a good brand?
l 'm taking Learn to Skate Lessons I am on Basic Level 3

Been in the competitive skating world for 16 years and never heard of this brand.. Just googled it, looks like they are beginner type of skates. Not much support for the ankles.

What is the purpose for the skates that you want to buy?



l totally agree with pinksk8e, Riedell skates are the way to go. You will spend $150+ but if your serious about skating you will need to invest in a good pair of skates. Good Luck!

I've never heard of them. They're probably a recreational skate. If you're taking lessons, I'd check into Riedells, probably their gold medallion boot/blade set. If you're in lessons & plan to continue, a recreational skate will not last u very long. Soon u will need a boot with more support & a better quality blade to help u with elements. You will be working on spins, 3-turns & eventually, half jumps, which will require more support. A recreational boot is usually made of vinyl, which does not offer a great deal of support for ur ankle & breaks down very quickly due to its flimsiness. A recreational boot & blade is not made from very good materials. They're not made for jumping, spinning or being used as often as you'd skate being in lessons. They're pretty much made for the type of skater who skates a few times a year at a rink or pond. The Riedell skate would be a good skate to get u through all basic 8 levels, & depending on how hard u r on skates, maybe into the free skate levels if that is the direction u want to go. l have a feeling the American Athletics would probably only work through maybe basic 4. I've had skaters in my LTS classes get very frustrated because they have vinyl skates -- the type u get from Toys 'R Us or Dick is Sporting Goods -- & they have a hard time with 3-turns, one-foot spins & jumps. Once we determine the problem is they need a little better skate, they're amazed at the difference. l had one girl go from hating spins to loving them all by getting her a better skate..and this was just within one lesson. While the Riedells may cost more, l think it is worth it because they will last u longer & u will be better prepared for the upcoming levels. Get fitted at a professional skate shop so u get the correct size for ur feet. You can order skate through shops, who also may offer used skates for sale, or once u know ur size/model, u can bargin hunt online. In the group lessons, sometimes skater is skills quickly outgrow their skates! :)

l used these skates as my first pair and they are horrible. The blade was mounted crookidly and there is no way to fix it. For your level l would recomend Jackson Freestyles. They are kind of expensive but you will be able to use them for a very long time. But if they are too expensive Get Jackson Mystiques. They are not the best skates but they will do.

as a competitve figure skater, l hav to say that i've never heard of them, and that is not good! try a pair of Jacksons, they're perfect for beginners!

Try jacksons, or riedells, they are more expensive but they will last you much longer than this.
