What should l do if my mom is putting alot of pressure on me to ice skate more hours of the day and says that she believes in me but then turns around and says that im not going to succeed !!

what should l do?

Do what makes you happy.cause if you go and ice skate for her you will end up being bitter and regreting it. You will turn that bitterness towards skating and you're mom. Tell her that she isnt motivating you but only discouraging you when she says you wont succeed.

l know exactly what u mean. Many have been in this situation. First, evaluate the reasons that u r ice skating. If it is for any reason other than pure enjoyment, perhaps u should consider trying a different sport. If u r having fun, skate the way u want to, & do not let any one else tell u what to do, not even ur mom. However, because ur mom is the one paying for all of the lessons, then u need to skate in a way that is not wasteful. Otherwise, try to have fun, & if u have to stand up to ur mom, do not be disrespectful, but calmly explain to her the u will skate the way u want to or u will not skate at all.

Good luck!

pretty much every mom does that.

but how ARE you going to succeed if you dont put more practice in?

if you dont enjoy skating then quit but if you do than l would skate more hours.

god, if my mom ASKED me too skate more hours l would definitely do it. and if l didnt something would be wrong

and your mother is gonna belive in you if you try hard.

if you dont want to work the extra hours you will not succeed because you probbably wo not try as hard as if u really wanted to do better.

Well, l would say that u have to look at ur goals. If ur dream is to become anywhere on a world or national stage, u r definitely going to have to put in every possible minute u can. If u r planning to engage in competition at a bit of a smaller scale, or even any competition at all, u r still going to ned to put a lot of time in. However, if u r ice skating for only the sheer pleasure & want to learn only certain things at a certain rate & practice whatever u want at whatever time, then u should put in only as much time as u r willing to. The main factor is that u have to choice the path in which u follow as a skater: Do u want to be a recreational skater, or a competitve skater. You should also have a discussion with ur coach & see what his/ her opinion is. If u would like more information, just ask & also tell me how much time u skate right now per week.

You should do what makes you happy. If you love skating and want to work hard do it. If it is too much for you or you just are not into it find something else you like to do. l skated for 30 years and one day (actually it was over the course of a season) l decided I'd had enough. l walked away and have not looked back. l have fond memories and a box of medals. But, I've moved onto other things.

It is not your mom skating! I'd say your mom is a typical skating mom. Most parents push their kids to suceed. But Do not listen to her. Listen to what your heart wants. l kno it sounds cheesy but it is true! Do what u want and only wat u want. Do it b/c u love the sport. In figure skating you can not succeed unless u truly love it!

That is what my mom does. Just do what you want. If you think you will get tired of it by adding more hours, then don't. Just sit down and talk with you mom. She will understand more than you think she will. Always to remember do what makes you happy.

One of the biggest regrets of my life is that my parents did not push me to put more time into things l was learning. Looking back, l tried a lot of things but never really mastered anything. Mastering something takes lots of time & dedication. l skated when l was young, but my parents let me quit because l was tired of being in the car so much. l picked it up again as an adult, & l love it more than anything else. l loved it as a kid, but l was not willing to make any sacrifices. Now l wish I'd never quit.

If u do not love skating then do not do it. But do not make the same mistake l did, either.
