You just need to stretch & practice them off ice lots. Flexibility is not something that just comes to you, u have to work at it. Stretch two times a day & u will find ur flexibility will increase.

If you're already flexible & just need help with ur technique then here is what u do. Start with pulling ur free leg into the air, then lower ur upper body & keep ur arms out to the side to help u with balance & direction. Then straighten both ur free leg & skating leg.
It just takes practice. Keep stretching & keep trying them on & OFF ice & u will start to improve.

l am a figure skater. l find it best if l gain a little speed then slightly widen my arms and legs then as l turn l bring them in, you will find it keeps you spinning for longer and alot faster :)

Practice the doing the splits and then have a friend or a parent push your leg up in a spiral position. Or use a chair or a couch to hold onto for balance.

Off ice, hold on to the back of a chair, or anything like the back of a couch or something, Go into your spiral position and hold it for as long as you can. Do the same on the other leg. you WILL be sore tomorrow if you do it right. Also just make sure your back is arched and your arms are not clinging to your sides, think about squeezing your shoulder blades together. This really helps for a great spiral.

My biggest piece of advice is STRETCH! Many people can not do a great spiral because they are not flexible. You will see a major difference if you take 10-20 minutes out of your day to stretch. Good luck!
