the best & most well known company of figure skates is definitely risport,

however there r not a singular pair of ice skates which r 'the best' - there r different pairs of skates that r best for different people & different abilities.

If u have just started figure skating & r working on things such as: learning to skating forwards & backwards, one foot glides, crossovers & beginner spins then u will be needing a pair of RF4 skates with beginner blades also.
These will cost around $100-$200

If u have been skating a while & r on single or double jumps & intermediate spins such as sit spin, parrellel spin & various field movements u will be needing RF3 skates with preferably 'John Wilson- Coronation ace blades'
These will cost around $350-$400

If u r on triples & various flying spins & laybacks u will be needing RF2 skates with superior blades
These will cost around $500-$600

RF1 skates r for olympic athletes & there is no way that u would be asking this question if u were on that level so dont worry about these.

As for where u can purchase these skates- l do not know as l dont know where u live. l do not reccomend buying them online however as u need to get ur skates properly fitted & sized.

Hope l helped _x

l would have to disagree l do not know anybody who wears risport skates but riedell jackson harlick klingbeil sp teri are all very good it depends on your feet as to which brand will be best for you and what level you're skating at will tell you what stiffness you need

There is no such brand that is THE BEST. Each brand has it is cons & it is pros & different brands adjust better to different skaters.

The important brands of ice skates: Risport, Riedell, Harlick, SP Teri, Klingbeil & Jackson.

Risports have the disadvantage of being extremely heavy & the sides r stiff. l would never be able to use them ( l have fidgety feet), however a lot of skaters love the brand & it is the second most known brand in Mexico after Riedells.

l used to wear Riedells, overall a good brand. They r also pretty heavy, but the insides r very soft & even my feet could tolerate them acceptably well. It is the most known brand in Mexico & I've heard good reviews of the Blue Ribbon series for newbie figure skaters.

l personally use Harlick customs which r specially designed for my own feet & nobody else could use them. Harlicks seem to have the image of being ultra comfortable. They r indeed spoungy in the inside with high quality materials (hence the insane price l paid for 'em).

As for blades, there is ony two ''brands'' that r owned by the same company: MK & Wilson. I've only used MK brand blades though.

Depending on the level & type of skating that u will be doing depends on what the best skate for u would be. Riedell skates r very good beginning skates, & if u choose to go further in skating where u need a stiffer boot, they make all ranges of skates from beginning to advanced. For a beginning skate l would suggest a Riedell Blue Ribbon or a Riedell Bronze medallion. Any pair of decent figure skates is going to cost u anywhere from $100-$200. You will need to go to ur local ice skating pro shop (often times they r located at the ice rinks) or u can find one in ur local phone book. They will need to size ur skates, because nothing is worse than skates that r too big or too small.
