Im learning backwards crossovers. Does anyone have any tips that l need to remember whilst trying them?

Make sure your weight is over the skating leg (the one that is in contact with the ice), keep your knees bent, keep your head looking into your circle, shoulders in line with the circle too.

Bend your knees! Sit into your ankles too and keep your arms up for balance.

keep to your inside edges. and bend you knees , they will inprove over time.

Here r some tip & pointers:

1. Do not be afraid! l was so scared l would fall at first, so when ever my leg was about to cross l would sort of drag my toe-pick.

2. Try doing some backward swizzles before attempting ur backward crossovers.

3. Make sure u keep ur arms out for balance.

4. Keep ur back leaning a little to the front so u do not fall

5. Do not go too fast or u will loose ur balance & fall.

6. Make sure nobody is behind u so u do not run them over.

make sure you completely get your free foot over the skating foot. l do mine to where l slide in front of my skating foot, which is more advanced for jumps. In higher levels, you have to use that method to pass. Good luck!

Look down your ''inside shoulder'' to see where you're going and to keep your upper body turned properly.

Always cross ''outside'' foot over ''inside foot'' in front - do not let your crossing foot go next to the skating foot.

Shift your weight before you try to draw the foot across in front - sit back on a bent knee.

Keep your back arched and do not bend over.
