l can not ice skate for my life!!!!!!! any tips?? (i have a date 2marrow and l dnt wanna look like a idiot!!)

wow. you made a date for ice skating? and you can not? haha. =]

sorry, -- just try to ''walk'' on the ice. march! it is the easiest thing to do. l teach learn-to-skate, and that is how you start.

l would go and skate before you date. But then again l am sure you wo not look like an idiot. Do your best but be yourself. Seriously if he does not like you because you can not ice skate then it is not worth it right.

But as for tips- Bend you knees. And just kind of walk like normal at first til you get used to it and use the wall at first but do not be afraid to go into the middle. But most of all just have fun with it.

Tips: bend ur knees
start by marching, then stroking (pushing off one foot then the other)
watch out for other skaters by skating on the sides
if u fall, just get back up
Do not worry if u do not get it at first.
Just be yourself & enjoy yourself.

What to wear: a warm top & bring sweater/jacket for extra warmth
thick socks (rentals r not comfortable without them)
extra money for snacks (if u do not eat before or after)
jeans (you could wear them, but if u fall they might get wet)
gloves (preference ur fingers will get cold, but most public session skaters do not so be smart & wear gloves)
tights (under jeans if u get cold easily)
band aids (not trying to scare u, but sometimes ur feet might feel uncomfortable in certain spots)

What to do: pay for the session & rentals
choose size that ur tennis shoes r
might have to try a few for best fit
tie laces tight, but not too tight
if ur feet hurt, do not ignore that, take off skates & rest feet for few min.
